The Navigation Data Standard (NDS) is THE worldwide standard for map data in automotive eco-systems.
But NDS is more than a map: It’s how we will drive tomorrow.
Our cars are becoming more connected, more automated, and more intelligent. And while vehicle and infrastructure sensors combine to paint a realistic picture of the world for them, maps are what helps our cars understand that picture. For this reason, it is critical that the next generation of vehicles must not rely on sensor data alone, but should also combine that information with high-definition map data.
At NDS, we believe that a common map standard is essential for encouraging collaboration and accelerating development within the automotive industry – one that is connected, flexible and worldwide.
The NDS Association is made of up of global, leading car manufacturers, application/compiler developers, and map and service providers, who work together to create a vision for the future of driving. The association is chaired by Martin Schleicher, Elektrobit, along with with Vice Chairman Nico Glorius, NavInfo.
