Peter Vink is professor of Environmental Ergonomics at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. His main research interests are interior design, comfort, and vehicle seat design and their applications in mobility. Peter has written more than 250 papers and books in the field of comfort, performance, and design of interior designs.

His latest book is ‘Vehicle Seat Comfort and Design’ (publisher Pumbo, 2016), which is a follow up of ‘Aircraft Interior Comfort and Design’, co-authored by Klaus Brauer, one of the leading designers of the Boeing 787 interior (CRC Press, Boca Raton, 2011). One of Peter’s current projects is the interior of the Flying V. Peter received his PhD degree in 1989 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Leiden in the field of biomechanics. He sits on the editorial board of various scientific journals (e.g. Applied Ergonomics).

We design for our future. It's the core business of students and researchers at our faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, at the TU Delft in The Netherlands since 1969. We believe technology should be designed to improve our lives. Meanwhile, we should design organisations and systems that aid people in adaption and use of this technology. In order to truly have an impact and solve the problems we face globally, we have to match evolution of people and revolution of technology.
