Dr. Holger Caesar is a Principal Research Scientist at Motional in Singapore, formerly known as nuTonomy. At Motional, Holger leads the Autolabeling and Data Mining teams, whose goal it is to find scalable approaches to mine, annotate and learn from vast amounts of data. Holger is the project lead for the nuScenes and nuPlan autonomous driving datasets and contributed to the PointPillars method for object detection from lidar. He previously did his Ph.D. in Computer Vision under the supervision of Prof. Vittorio Ferrari at the University of Edinburgh and ETH Zurich. During his Ph.D., Holger released the COCO-Stuff dataset and several methods for fully and weakly supervised segmentation and detection. Holger published 10 papers, 4 patents and co-organized 7 workshops. His work has been cited over 2200 times.
