Dr. Eckard Steiger holds a position of a director within division Chassis Systems Control - department Systems and Advanced Engineering - of Robert Bosch GmbH in Germany.
In 1993 Eckard Steiger graduated with a diploma in Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology), from where he received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1998 as well. From 1993 to 1998 Eckard Steiger was with the Institute of Microwave Engineering and Electronics working as research scientist.
After joining Robert Bosch in 1998 he held positions on expert and management levels in sensor and electronics development and application including supplier management for vehicle safety.
Subsequently Eckard Steiger headed several original equipment projects for different automotive OEM. More recently he was in the position of a sales director with responsibilities for program management, acquisition and strategic topics for products for vehicle active and passive safety and advanced driver assistance systems for leading automotive OEM.
In his current assignment Eckard Steiger holds specific strategic responsibility in the area connected and automated driving including board and advisory council activities and public private partnership undertakings.
Eckard Steiger has been certified as project manager professional PMP® of PMI (http://www.pmi.org/) and is member of VDI (http://www.vdi.de/).
