Since 2011 Fabian Klebert serves as the Technical Lead for the NDS Association, where his responsibilities include overseeing the technical development of the NDS Standard, leading numerous working groups comprising industry stakeholders, and facilitating the launch of navigation and automated driving products that employ the NDS map standard. He also monitors tool development within NDS and is the pioneering architect of the next-generation NDS.Live standard. Fabian Klebert is the CEO of Klebert Engineering. Before his current leadership roles at Klebert Engineering and the NDS Association, Fabian Klebert honed his skills as a Team Manager at IAV GmbH, working on projects for BMW in the realms of Navigation, Telematics, and HMI, and as a System Analyst at a Biotech startup. With a Diplom Informatik from Hochschule München and 20 years of professional experience, he has established himself as a recognized innovator in the automotive industry.

The Navigation Data Standard (NDS) Association is the international organization for the worldwide standard for map data in automotive ecosystems. The NDS specification is defined by its member companies, which consist of OEMs, system providers, solution providers and navigation data providers. NDS provides a well-defined specification for the storage and transmission of map-related data and allows flexibility for customized user experiences. It includes the data model, storage format, interfaces and protocols. NDS is intended for in-vehicle navigation and safety systems, mobile companion apps, cloud solutions for connected vehicles, and autonomous driving. The standard evolves with market needs, as NDS was developed by the automotive industry for the automotive industry. NDS maps and services operate worldwide and are deployed globally, e.g., in North America, EMEA, APAC, including China, South Korea and Japan. Today, the NDS Association has more than 45 member companies and is used in millions of vehicles from over 40 automotive brands worldwide.
