Haneet Mahajan serves as the Functional Safety Team Lead at Magna Electronics. In his role, he is responsible for inculcating safety within the foundations of the company and its products ranging from ASIL B to ASIL D. He leads a team of ambitious engineers working on ADAS technology and scalable products including cameras, ultrasonic sensors, RADAR, LiDAR, electrification modules and Domain Controller technologies.

He is an SGS-TüV-certified Automotive Functional Safety Professional (AFSP) and UL-Certified Cyber-Security Professional (CCSP). With past experience in hydraulic and by-wire brake systems, lighting technologies and hybrid vehicle development, he works towards continuously evolving safety approaches for current and future vehicle technologies. He has a Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University with research experience in systems theory-based safety-driven design.
