As Director of Global Automotive Strategy, Jamie is responsible for global product and market strategy. He is currently focused on the mega-trends around the autonomous car including E-Mobility, advanced sensing, vehicle-to-vehicle communications. Jamie is an active member of industry events and is a frequent speaker.

Since joining NI in 1996 as an applications engineer, Jamie has held key leadership positions in sales, engineering, product strategy, corporate development, and marketing. Smith has helped drive numerous strategic product and operational innovations during his time at NI. He has been recognized as Top Embedded Innovator by Embedded Computing Design received an R&D 100 Award and was recognized by the IIC for his Industrial IoT contributions.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in applied physics from Stanford University.
