Rini Sherony is a Sr. Principal Engineer at Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) which is part of Toyota Technical Center located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is with Toyota for the past 18 years working in crash data analysis, active safety/advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) design, testing and planning. Rini has a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. At CSRC She is the lead for active safety/ADAS collaboration research and crash data analysis. Her current responsibilities include development of test procedures, surrogate target, and testing for active safety systems like Pre-Collision, Pedestrian Pre-Collision system, Lane departure warning and prevention systems, etc. She is part of organizing committees for many scientific conferences like SAE World Congress, SAE Active Safety, FAST Zero conferences, IEEE Intelligent Vehicle Symposium, etc. She is involved in several SAE standards development committees in the area of active safety/ADAS. She has co-authored over 40 papers in automotive safety and has 9 patents.
